A tire pressure light is an important part of your vehicle because it alerts you when the tire pressure drops below the minimum acceptable levels. Let's check out what may cause your tire pressure light to illuminate.
Your tire pressure light may come on because of a tire puncture or extreme temperatures. When the weather is hot, the tire pressure light may come on because the tires over-inflate. When it's cold, pressure in the tires will drop overnight, which may cause the tire pressure light to illuminate, but this is only temporary. The light will stop illuminating when the tires start to heat up.
If you notice that your tire pressure light is illuminated, then be sure to have it looked at by our technicians at Eagle River Chrysler Ltd. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported than there are 120 less motor vehicle crash fatalities because of tire pressure monitoring systems.
