Engine Options & Performance Comparison

Multiple engine options are available for the 2023 Wrangler, allowing you to find the perfect engine for your specific performance and fuel efficiency preferences. As standard, the 2023 Wrangler comes equipped with a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine and a six-speed manual transmission, providing a healthy output of 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, you can opt for an eight-speed automatic transmission for the standard engine, while the other engine options get the automatic transmission as standard. Also, you can find an optional 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, generating 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Although those engine options are great, the Rubicon 392 trim gets an exclusive 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine that increases the 2023 Wrangler's output figures to 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the 2023 Bronco has three engine options, including a standard 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder that cranks out 275 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. As you would expect from an off-road-capable SUV, the new Bronco gets a seven-speed manual transmission as its standard option, while a ten-speed automatic is available. Upgrading to the 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 increases output to 315 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Maximum output is achievable with the optional 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6, delivering 406 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Off-Road Capability & Features Comparison

The 2023 Wrangler comes standard with loads of great off-road features and a four-wheel-drive system, but the Rubicon trims are the ideal choice when looking for maximum off-road capability from your Jeep. With a Rubicon trim, you can expect off-road features such as 33-inch all-terrain tires, Off-Road Plus mode, Rock-Trac four-wheel-drive system, Tru-Lok electronic locking differential, electronic sway bar disconnect, red tow hooks, rock protection sill rails, and a full-size matching rear-mounted spare tire.

Like the Jeep Wrangler, the Ford Bronco requires additional equipment to maximize its off-road worthiness. However, the Bronco trims can have some great off-road equipment, but the Sasquatch Package is where you will find all of the best off-road features for this Ford SUV. With this optional package, the Bronco gets 35-inch mud-terrain tires, electronic-locking axles, high-clearance suspension, position-sensitive Bilstein shock absorbers, and high-clearance fender flares.
